ed binkley design
After ten years as a Partner & National
Design Director with the international architectural and planning firm
of BSB Design, Ed Binkley has opened a solo venture known as “ed binkley
design”. Binkley also spent eight years with The Evans Group as Vice
President of Architecture prior to joining BSB in 1999.
Binkley has a strong reputation for
designing buildings where people choose to go and has focused much of
his career on restaurant, hospitality, community, and housing projects.
His noteworthy projects, while with other firms, include prototype design
for Bahama Breeze and Season’s 52 restaurants for Darden Restaurants,
the 2005 and 2007 New American Home for the International Builders Show
in Orlando, the 2006 Boomer House for the American Housing Association
and Hanley Wood magazine and a variety of other projects in locations
throughout the country.
In addition, Binkley is a frequent speaker
at local, regional and international events including a recent trip
to Beijing, China where he presented at the International Housing Association’s
Green Building Forum.
Recent focus is on affordable, green,
systems approach to housing and is currently developing a demo house
that is intended to spearhead the efforts and to act as a learning tool
for ultimate mass production.
